About Dylan Punke

Dylan Punke I wish to extend a deep gratitude for your patronage! Without your support, none of this would be possible. Thank you!

My "formal" photography training consists of two one day courses in junior high on basic dark room procedures. I learn through direct experimentation and my style has been shaped over the years by being immersed in the world, observing the life that is dancing around in the light. I tend to be a natural observer and often a quiet man. I am thankful for being alive and for the experiences that I have had and am able to share. I hope these photographs will be a part of the legacy of living on this wonderful planet. I grew tall in a small farming community in the Midwest and was blessed with a tight knit family. If you have any pondering about my influences or life, please feel free to contact me.

As you'll notice as you peruse my works, some are a combination of color and black and white. I've heard many terms for this especially, selective color or color splash. I think a more accurate term is digital desaturation. I utilize a digital program to desaturate (remove the color) color from a full color photograph that I have captured. This allows original color to be the draw of life from the monochrome around it.

Purchase:

I offer a limited number of signed photographs. Please contact me directly to purchase a signed photograph.

Have an idea for a custom piece? Contact me for a custom desaturation.

I also have a soft cover book, Local Sanctuary, that consists of a 100 photographs taken in a local nature preserve. Order

DYLAN'S PERSONAL NOTE TO PATRONS: The unsigned photographs and prints on this site are created and shipped directly by a dedicated professional printer other than Dylan Punke. For privacy, they keep your identity & contact information private and do not forward me that information. However, I would love to personally acknowledge you for your purchase and support. It keeps this going. Please email me via the contact link after your purchase, so I can personally thank you! With your continued patronage, the photographs are keep be shared and new works continue to be created.

Why have I decided to open up my printing? I have thought about this for quite some time (years actually.) I view it as an author doesn't physically create every single book they sell. I hope the benefit of the works come from the actual initial exposure and manipulation of the photographs and YOUR connection with them. I have partnered with a professional dedicated printer to expand the options and offerings of my photographs; from notecards, finished frame pieces, metal, canvas, acrylic, wood, and even phone covers. It is my hope that through this partnership, that I may have the opportunity to focus on what I do best; to respectively create new photographs for YOU to enjoy for years to come!
